Khor Virap translated as a deep pit. The historical reality of adopting Christianity as the state religion in Armenia derived from this pit. The mentioned place is located in the territory of the Artashat citadel, one of the ancient capitals of historical Armenia, on a small hill, directly in front of the Biblical Mount Ararat. In good weather, the mountain seems so close that you can touch it with your hand. Well, you will learn about the Khor Virap and its amazing history during the tour. Along with the mentioned destination, it is recommended to visit the spiritual center of all Armenians St. Etchmiadzin.
Areni settlement is one of the oldest settlements in Armenia. Man has lived and created here since time immemorial. The settlement is most famous for its winemaking and especially semi-sweet wines made from “Areni” grapes. It is no coincidence that the excavations carried out years ago right here, in one of the many surrounding caves, discovered the world’s oldest winery, which is about 6500 years old. The mentioned cave also became famous for another fossil, when the world’s oldest leather shoe was found here / BC. 3500/. Well, you will hear and witness the rest of the interesting stories when you visit the mentioned cave during the tour.
One of the marvels of medieval Armenian architecture, Noravank is located in the Vayots Dzor region, in a wonderfully picturesque upland place. Architects Siranes and Momik have built the monastery complex in such a harmonious way that it seems to be one whole with the surrounding beautiful landscapes. And often the question naturally arises, which is more beautiful, the creation of man or nature? We will also expect to hear the answer to the question from you at the end of the tour.
