Overview
An unforgettable informative tour to the “capital” of arts and crafts, Gyumri, awaits you. Gyumri is the second largest city of the Republic of Armenia, it stands out for its unique color where even a simple walk can bring aesthetic pleasure to those who appreciate art and craft. Almost every house and building here has its own history and charm. And it is no coincidence that the best films of classical Armenian cinematography were shot here.
During the tour, we will visit the Dzitoghtsonts House-Museum of the Gyumri Folk Architecture, city life and National Architecture, where Gyumri daily life, culture and history are presented. We will be in Vardanats Square where you can ride a carriage and mentally move to Gyumri of the 19th-20th century. We will visit the Seven Wounds Church, where you can see the miraculous Seven Wounds icon, we will walk through Varpetats and other central streets, we will see the terraces of the famous “Varem-Marem” from the movie “Triangle” and “Our Childhood Tango”, we will visit the house-museums of famous Armenian poets Hovhannes Shiraz and Avetik Iskahakyan and the museum of USSR People’s Artist, popular actor Mher Mkrtchyan.
After the city tour, we will visit the medieval Marmashen monastery complex built on the left bank of the Akhuryan River, we will be amazed by the amazing architecture of the monastery and the beautiful landscapes of the surroundings, we will drink from the “Heghnar spring” and we will return to Yerevan full of impressions.
