Overview
This trip is distinguished by its circular route. An interesting journey through five ancient sanctuaries of Aragatsotn and Shirak Regions of the Republic of Armenia awaits you. The first stop of the trip is the village of Mastara, in the center of which is the 5th-6th century St. Hovhannes Church, which was built on the relics of St. Hovhannes the Baptist. The next stop is the Hogevank of the 13th century, then the Zagha cave-spring, which healing water’s miraculous reputation has gained great popularity among the people. The fourth stop is the famous monastery complex of Harich (Harichavank) from the 7th-13th centuries, with its magnificent architecture built from pink tuff and beautiful geographical location. The last stop is on the way back, St. Cross church of Aparan, which, together with the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, is one of the oldest Christian churches still standing today.
